Custom drapery is made fuller and lusher than store bought curtains. Usually, store-bought draperies are made 1.5x full, whereas custom draperies are made 2.5x full (3 x full for sheers) and can come at custom length and heights. When buying store bought, they only carry common sizes, but windows do not come in standard sizes! Also, store bought drapery is most often found as grommets or back tabs, which tend to look fuller in the middle and sparse on the ends. Drapery looks much more pleasing to the eye if it is uniform. You also won’t find unique styles with drapery that is store bought. Ripplefold – which has nice even curves and a pleasing contemporary look must be custom, and there are many different pleat styles and headers that you will not find in a retail

environment. With custom window treatments you can also address angled windows, sloping windows, and skylights.

Yes, we provide professional measure and installation of all our window treatments. We carry a full array of drapery hardware as well, which is of a higher quality than store bought drapery hardware, and doesn’t buckle in the middle if the drapery is too heavy the way store bought drapery hardware does. It comes in a wide variety of styles and finishes as well! We sell motorized drapery rods, rods with matching rings, rods with wand closure or a continuous cord loop. We have rods that inconspicuously hang from the ceiling, rods specifically meant for ripplefold, traverse rods for pinch pleats, and every style and color of rod you can imagine.

We offer roman shades, roller shades (including solar shades, light filtering shades and room darkening shades), honeycomb shades (which provide insulation to keep your heating and cooling costs down), woven wood shades, and zebra shades. We have shades that are cordless, shades that are motorized, and shades with continuous cords. Honeycomb shades are also available as top down/bottom up!

Yes! They are convenient, child safe, and can be programmed for multiple shades to go up and down at once, or one at a time. You can even set them on a timer to raise or lower at a particular time. This is good if you are going out of town, so it looks as though people are living in the house. We offer battery operated shades (with batteries that have a very long life) or systems that are hardwired. In addition to having a remote control to operate the shades, we can also give you the option of operating the shades from your mobile phone!

Custom drapes and shades usually last somewhere between 10 and 15 years. Factors that affect the longevity of window treatments are sun exposure (that can fade fabric – which is why lined drapery lasts longer than unlined), regular maintenance, pets playing with them, and quality of the materials. Premium fabrics can extend the life of window treatments, and humidity can have an effect on them as well. Regular dusting and cleaning will go a long way in terms of giving your window treatments a long life! Choosing a fabric that will perform well in the space they will occupy will extend the life of the window treatment. For example, if strong sun is a factor we can find something that will perform well in strong
